ABOUT GEO PLANT
The Geo plant makes an instant statement with its distinct large and shiny purple-black leaves and short purple-red stems.
Native to the rainforests of South America, it is a relatively new houseplant for plant parents in North America. It is an elegant and striking selection for tabletops and large terrariums.
WATERING
When should I water my Geo plant?
To see if your plant needs water, stick your finger about an inch down into the soil. If it feels dry, water. If the soil feels moist, do not water. If you are unsure, check again in a few days. Geo plants prefer moist but not wet soil.
Never mist your foliage. Misting leaves causes fungal issues and disease. The only plants that are okay to mist are ferns and carnivorous plants.
LIGHT NEEDS
Prefers medium to bright indirect sunlight.
GROWTH
A slow to moderate grower, typically reaching 6-8 inches tall and wide.
SOIL NEEDS
Requires moist, well-drained soil.
TEMPERATURE & HUMIDITY
Thrives in average room temperatures and high humidity. To boost humidity around the plant, place a tray filled with pebbles underneath its saucer or use a humidifier.
FERTILIZING
Fertilize March through October with an all-purpose houseplant food. To help it grow optimally and evenly, occasionally dust the leaves, and rotate the pot by a ¼ turn once a month. Prune only when needed.
