SPRING…RE-NEW & RE-FRESH
Spring comes early at Hicks Nurseries and is a must for those wanting to get out of the cold to get their first taste of spring. There’s exciting energy in the air as flowers such as tulips, daffodils and pansies begin to arrive along with the first deliveries of beautiful trees and shrubs. We kick off spring with our annual Flower & Garden Showcase that puts the spotlight on inspiring plant displays.
Flower & Garden Showcase
For more than 30 years we’ve been able to share the joy and excitement of gardening with the creation of our spring flower and garden displays. The goal is to inspire and educate, helping our customers be successful in their own gardens.
A new experience for 2021 featured eight top garden styles on Long Island designed by our award-winning landscape team that could easily be translated into any outdoor space. Gardens in full bloom featured real-world solutions that create attainable and unique settings for anyone to implement. LEARN MORE
Landscape Inspiration Center Display Gardens
As our customers have told us “It’s like a walk in the park!” and a shopping experience like no other. Whether you are looking for the perfect trees & shrubs or just want some inspiration, take a stroll through the paved walkways of our Landscape Inspiration Center in the nursery yard. Our 12 permanent, themed display gardens help you envision the different plants you can group together and how they will grow, possibly in your own yard.
Our expansive nursery is the largest on Long Island with fresh material arriving constantly from the very best growers in the country, from spring all the way into fall.
The Fall Festival traditionally features a myriad of family-friendly activities including a giant pumpkin weigh-off, hay rides, face painting and pumpkin decorating. Our famous fall food favorites including fudge and irresistible fresh-roasted corn on the cob are a must! Plus our very own celebrity ghost, lovable Otto the Ghost, makes his rounds to delight young and old alike!
Fall Animated Story
Enjoy a walk through our animated children’s story which has been delighting kids for decades! A new story every year emphasizes the value of friendship and being of service to others. A great way to start the Fall Harvest activities at Hicks.
Admission is always free however we would greatly appreciate the donation of a non-perishable food item(s) for Long Island Cares.
