WATERING

Allow to dry out in between waterings. They are best watered from a saucer or by using a self-watering pot. If the leaves get wet, unsightly spots will appear and then rot.

Never mist your foliage. Misting leaves causes fungal issues and disease. The only plants that are okay to mist are ferns and carnivorous plants.

LIGHT NEEDS

Grow best in medium indirect light. Avoid placing in spaces without natural light or with direct sunlight.

GROWTH

This compact plant grows up to nine inches tall and wide over time.

SOIL NEEDS

For a healthy plant, use a premium potting mix made exclusively for African Violets.

TEMPERATURE & HUMIDITY

African Violets prefer a warm, humid environment much like we do.

FERTILIZING

Fertilize March through October with a bloom boosting fertilizer. Prune the stems and flowers when they dry up or turn brown. To help your plant grow optimally and evenly rotate the pot by a ¼ turn once per month.

SAFE FOR PETS?

According to the ASPCA, African Violet plants are not toxic to dogs, cats, and horses.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If not producing flowers, it is likely a result of not getting enough light, warmth, and/or humidity. In this case, try moving the plant to a brighter spot and applying a bloom boosting fertilizer.
