ABOUT ANTHURIUM

It is cherished for its long blooms, lasting anywhere from eight to twelve weeks. A known air-purifier, Anthurium absorb carbon dioxide and release clean oxygen into the air.

WATERING

When should I water my Anthurium?

Anthuriums like to dry out between waterings. To see if your plant needs water, stick your finger about an inch down into the soil. If the soil feels dry, water. If the soil feels moist, do not water. If you are unsure, check again in a few days.

Never mist your foliage. Misting leaves causes fungal issues and disease. The only plants that are okay to mist are ferns and carnivorous plants.

LIGHT NEEDS

Anthurium grows best in medium or bright indirect light.

Anthurium typically reach heights of 12-16 inches tall. They are slow to moderately paced growers.

SOIL NEEDS

Anthurium prefers a well-drained soil mix.

Anthurium is a tropical warm weather plant that thrives in a warm space.

FERTILIZING

Fertilize Anthurium March through October with an all-purpose plant food. To help your plant grow optimally and evenly, occassionally dust the leaves and rotate the pot by a ¼ turn once a month.

IS ANTHURIUM PET SAFE?

According to the ASPCA, Anthurium is toxic to dogs, cats and horses.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If you notice the flowers of your Anthurium are more green than red or pink relocate the plant to a more moderate location away from direct sunlight. Yellowing leaves are an indication of too much water.
