ABOUT HOUSEPLANT PALMS

Houseplant Palms are perfect for adding a bold, tropical touch to your home. Varieties differ in shape and size of leaves.
Use Palms to break up a section of blank wall, fill an empty corner or soften the edges of windows or furniture. They clean the air by absorbing carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen back into the air.
If you would like, give them a little summer vacation and move them outdoors to your patio in the warm summer months.
When should I water my Palm plant?
To see if your plant needs water, stick your finger about an inch down into the soil. If it feels dry, water. If the soil feels moist, do not water. If you are unsure, check again in a few days.
Never mist your foliage. Misting leaves causes fungal issues and disease. The only plants that are okay to mist are ferns and carnivorous plants.
Most houseplant Palms prefer high indirect light. Some, like the majesty, like lower light conditions.
The mature height of your Palm plant will depend on the variety you choose.
Houseplant Palms prefer moist, well-drained soil.
TEMPERATURE & HUMIDITY
Palm plants prefer moderate humidity and adapt well to normal household temperatures.
Fertilize your Palm plant March through October with an all-purpose houseplant food. To help it grow optimally and evenly, occasionally dust the leaves, and rotate the pot by a ¼ turn once a month.
ARE PALMS PET SAFE?
Some palm varieties such as the sago and cardboard palm are toxic to dogs, cats and horses.
Some palm plants may develop brown leaf tips. This could be caused by several factors including dry air, too much fertilizer or the soil being kept too dry or wet.
