HOW TO CARE FOR
ABOUT BOSTON FERN
The Boston fern is a classic, easy-care fern that produces graceful arching branches covered with soft, emerald-green fronds.
This popular, voluptuous plant complements any decorating style from tropical to elegant and bohemian. It adds immediate charm hanging in a basket or cascading down a planter.
In addition to the Boston Fern’s noise cancelling qualities, it helps clean the air and improve your overall mood.
When should I water my Boston Fern?
Water when the top of the soil is dry. Be careful not to let the plant dry out completely.
Boston ferns grow best in medium or bright indirect light.
Boston ferns grow 1-3 feet tall indoors.
Boston Ferns prefers a slightly moist but well-drained soil mix.
TEMPERATURE & HUMIDITY
Boston Fern grows best in a humid atmosphere so mist frequently to hydrate the foliage.
Prune your Boston Fern for size and shape as needed, removing no more than one-third of the foliage at a time. Fertilizer March through October when the plant is actively growing.
To help the plant grow optimally and evenly, occasionally dust the leaves and rotate the pot by a ¼ turn once a month.
IS BOSTON FERN PET SAFE?
According to the ASPCA, Boston Fern is non-toxic to dogs and cats.
Keep Boston fern away from heating or air-conditioning venters. The hot or cold drafty air can cause the fronds to go brown and dry prematurely. Avoid crispy foliage by keeping the plant moist.
