WATERING

When should I water my Boston Fern?

Water when the top of the soil is dry. Be careful not to let the plant dry out completely.

LIGHT NEEDS

Grow best in medium or bright indirect light.

GROWTH

Grow 1-3 feet tall indoors.

SOIL NEEDS

Prefers a slightly moist but well-drained soil mix.

TEMPERATURE & HUMIDITY

Grows best in a humid atmosphere so mist frequently to hydrate the foliage.

FERTILIZING

Prune for size and shape as needed, removing no more than one-third of the foliage at a time. Fertilizer March through October when the plant is actively growing.

To help the plant grow optimally and evenly, occasionally dust the leaves and rotate the pot by a ¼ turn once a month.

IS BOSTON FERN PET SAFE?

According to the ASPCA, Boston Fern is non-toxic to dogs and cats.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Keep away from heating or air-conditioning venters. The hot or cold drafty air can cause the fronds to go brown and dry prematurely. Avoid crispy foliage by keeping the plant moist.
