The Plant Swap gives our customers, and passionate plant lovers, the opportunity to learn from our experts and trade plants with other like-minded plant enthusiasts. It’s a great experience that builds community, friendship and a love of plants!

Create a Birdfeeder + Birds of Prey Experience

Kids Free Nature Event

Bring the family to Hicks Nurseries for a hands-on and unforgettable nature experience! Children ages 5 and up will create their own pinecone birdfeeder to take home, then enjoy an incredible live presentation featuring majestic birds of prey from the Wildlife Center of Long Island. This two-part event blends creativity, discovery, and learning.

Seed Starting for Spring Success

Adult Free Gardening Demonstration

Get a jumpstart on your best garden yet! Join us for free, hands-on demonstrations that make seed starting simple, doable, and exciting for every level, especially beginners. Our experts will walk you through the process and the supplies you need so you are set up for success.

Demos run every 30 minutes from 10am to 3pm.

36th Annual Flower & Garden Show

Open to the Public - Free Parking & Admission

A tradition since 1990,  our annual flower show is a great way to kick off the spring season and lift your spirits after a long cold winter.

Immerse yourself in stunning gardens in full bloom, expertly designed by our award-winning landscape design team. Free activities during the show include a scavenger hunt (all ages) and plant a pea (kids).

Become part of the indoor gardening community! Trade indoor plants or cuttings, get plant care tips by the experts at Hicks and meet like-minded plant lovers.

Participants can bring up to ten (10) pest-free houseplants and/or cuttings to trade or give away. For the summer Plant Swap & Sip event, outdoor plants can also be traded.

There will be negotiation tables and a free table.

ADMISSION: FREE. Must Pre-Register.
