WATERING

When should I water my Hoya plant?

Only water when the soil is dry to the touch. To see if your plant needs water, stick your finger about an inch down into the soil. If it feels dry, water. If the soil feels moist, do not water. If you are unsure, check again in a few days.

Never mist your foliage. Misting leaves causes fungal issues and disease. The only plants that are okay to mist are ferns and carnivorous plants.

LIGHT NEEDS

Prefers medium indirect sunlight.

GROWTH

Vines can very slowly grow up to 12 feet.

SOIL NEEDS

Prefers a lightweight, well-draining soil mix.

TEMPERATURE & HUMIDITY

Thrives in average room temperatures and high humidity. To boost humidity around the plant, place a tray filled with pebbles underneath its saucer or use a humidifier.

FERTILIZING

Fertilize March through October with an all-purpose houseplant food. To help it grow optimally and evenly, occasionally dust the leaves, and rotate the pot by a ¼ turn once a month. Prune only when needed.

ARE HOYA PLANTS PET SAFE?

According to the ASPCA Hoya are non-toxic to dogs, cats, and horses.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Yellowing leaves are often caused by over-watering or too much direct sunlight.
