Monstera plants are loved for their dramatic, tropical appearance and bold foliage. Their large, glossy leaves develop distinctive holes and deep splits as they mature, creating the iconic look that gives them the nickname Swiss cheese plant. Native to the tropical rainforests of Central and South America, they naturally grow as climbing plants, using aerial roots to attach to trees while reaching toward the light.

Tolerate low light but grows best in medium light conditions.
WATERING
When should I water my Monstera?
To see if your plant needs water, stick your finger about an inch down into the soil. If it feels dry, water. If the soil feels moist, do not water. If you are unsure, check again in a few days.
Never mist your foliage. Misting leaves causes fungal issues and disease. The only plants that are okay to mist are ferns and carnivorous plants.
GROWTH
Depending on the variety, they can grow up to 15 ft. tall.
SOIL NEEDS
Prefer moist, well-drained soil.
TEMPERATURE & HUMIDITY
Prefer high humidity and warm temperatures.
FERTILIZING
Fertilize March through October. To help it grow optimally and evenly, occasionally dust the leaves, and rotate the pot by a ¼ turn once a month.

According to the ASPCA, Monstera is toxic to dogs and cats.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Yellow leaves are often caused by overwatering. Additionally, it may need to be staked and trained to grow up a moss pole to keep it from growing too wide.
