Do you offer delivery throughout Long Island?
Yes. Delivery is available throughout Long Island, from Manhattan to Montauk. Hicks Nurseries friendly and reliable delivery drivers are trained to handle your purchases with care.
Can you help me select plants for my property?
Absolutely. Our expert staff can recommend plants based on your property’s general sun exposure, soil conditions, maintenance preferences, and design goals. Visit the Nursery Help Center in the Tree & Shrub Yard to get started.
Will you plant trees and shrubs that I purchase from Hicks?
Yes. Our PRO-PLANTING service is available for many trees, shrubs, and larger plant materials. As part of our PRO-PLANTING expert service, we conduct a FREE site evaluation, a $250 value! Planting fees apply. Must purchase plants and have them delivered. This is not landscape design.
Can I bring my own container for repotting or a planting?
Yes. Customers may bring their own containers, and our team can recommend appropriate plants and arrangements. Learn more about our repotting service HERE.
How often should I repot my houseplants?
Most houseplants benefit from repotting every 1–3 years, depending on growth rate and root development.
How do I submit a soil sample?
Bring a ½ cup of completely dry soil to our Garden Care Help Desk any time for a pH soil test while you wait. Once we know your pH level, our sales associates can help you identify if any further action is required. CLICK HERE to learn more.
