November Plant Tips
OUTDOORS:
- Finish planting spring bulbs before the ground freezes.
- Dig and store dahlias, cannas, and elephant ears after the first frost.
- Wrap fig trees, boxwoods, and other tender shrubs for winter.
- Do the final lawn mow and clean up fallen leaves.
- Clean out vegetable and flower beds.
- Prune damaged branches then clean and store tools for winter.
INDOORS:
- Move houseplants away from drafts and heat sources.
- Reduce watering and feeding as growth slows in the winter.
- Place plants near bright windows or use grow lights.
