Hicks Nurseries will host its first Plant Swap on Saturday, January 25th from 10am-1pm at the nursery in Westbury. Become part of the indoor gardening community, trade plants and meet like-minded plant lovers.
How does it work?
Bring up to 5 pest-free plants to trade or give away. There will be a negotiation table and a free table.
- Negotiation table: If you want to negotiate or trade plants, please place them on this table. Stay close so you can chat with people and make deals.
- Free table: If you want to give plants or cuttings away freely, put them on this table for anyone to pick up.
10am-11am: Bring your plants to the Learning Center for set-up.
11am-1pm: Negotiate with other plant lovers and peruse the free table for plants to take home.
What if I don’t have anything to trade?
Bring your questions! In addition to the swap, we will have experts on hand to answer your questions. Plus, we’ve invited local gardening groups to be part of the day! This is a great way to meet plant enthusiasts just like you!
No sales. The purpose of this event is to celebrate the spirit of generosity among plant enthusiasts. Selling is not allowed.
Please Note: All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to The INN. As a not-for-profit, volunteer-based organization, The INN provides a broad variety of essential services to assist those challenged by hunger, homelessness and profound poverty.
