April Plant Tips
- Now is a good time to fertilize your lawn with a high-quality organic fertilizer.
- Apply a crabgrass preventer when temperatures stay between 50–55°F for three or more consecutive days (or when forsythia are in bloom).
- Divide perennials, including mums, if needed.
- Plant trees, shrubs, and perennials.
- Cool-season vegetables like lettuce, broccoli, and cabbage can be planted outdoors.
- Celebrate Earth Day (April 22) and Arbor Day (April 25) by planting a tree.
